These guidelines are intended to make posting and archiving of fanfic here a simple, streamlined manner. Not following them doesn't mean that your work will not be posted; but it adds to time delays and general frustration.

Ground Rules:

Send your fanfic to OKEB@egroups.com, just like you would any message for the list. You must be subscribed to the list to send your fanfic there (see the next paragraph for the address).

We DO NOT, under ANY circumstances, accept random/offlist submissions. If you send a story to us without posting it to the OKEB list, it will be deleted unread. This archive is maintained solely for 'fic posted to the OKEB list. If you wish to learn how to join the OKEB list, go to its homepage.

Due to its illegal nature, any fanfic that has any descriptions, implicit or explicit, of minor children engaging in sexual activities, cannot be archived here. This issue is not up for debate.

We also do not post any 'fic that does not feature Obi-Wan. This, is, after all, the Obi-Wan Kenobi Estrogen Brigade; its object is Obi-Wan.

Guidelines for Posting

1) Save your work in a text file before posting it. No special characters (funky quotemarks, ..., accent marks, etc.). Don't post in HTML, either, please; send as a text file instead.

2) Add a double line between paragraphs. Makes it easier to read AND to archive.

3) Please keep track of part numbers if your story looks like it's going to be longer than you expected.

4) If you desire a portion of the story to be set off in italics, please indicate thus in the header. If you put, for example, "Archivist note: // indicates italics", that's all we need.

It's strictly a matter of personal choice; however, if you like using brackets (< and >) to designate thought, special text, etc., please reconsider. There are many other symbols available, and these particular brackets, being used for HTML code, have to be specially reformatted with their own characters every time they appear in text. This slows down updates.

5) Please set your line length to no more than 80 characters. (Okay, this is just a general posting etiquette thing...)

6) Be sure to append your name (or psuedonym), the story title, and your email address (if you wish it to be made public) in the header. And archive notification is HIGHLY appreciated: Just put "Archive: OKEB", or "Archive: Everywhere! Just ask!", or "Archive: Not yet, please". The first and second examples indicate to us that you do wish to have your 'fic archived here. (A summary will be nice, too: if you don't write one, though, I won't make one up.)

7) If your story deserves a rating, add one in the header. American standards are G (everyone), PG (almost everyone), PG-13 (not recommended for children under 13), R (under 17 only admitted with parents), NC-17 (absolutely not for anyone under 17). We do have younger readers.

Here's an example of how your header might look.

8) Please don't pester us about when your story will be up. As noted above, this is all done on a volunteer basis; I have real life and that usually has to take first precedence. Questions regarding the posting of a 'fic only delay the posting of all 'fic.
